Description:
This is the second module of a two-part series on hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems. This module focuses on the actual calculation process, taking the participant step by step through calculating several system configurations by hand. This includes an in-depth look at each of the major formulas used, determining remote areas based on hazard classifications, and how to use the calculation worksheet. Participants will perform three different calculations, each with increasing complexity to help demonstrate how density, area and k-factors all influence a system sizing and performance. Each participant should have scratch paper and a scientific calculator available.
Course Materials:
The instructor uses a Calc Sheet Template excel file and references an Equivalent Pipe Length Chart and 1inch Pipe Table. Those assets can be downloaded by clicking on the links above.
