
Main Drain Test Water Flow Test Procedures and Frequencies
Course Description:
Description: This class will provide a review of the NFPA 25 requirements for inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements for water-based fire protection systems as they relate to main drain and water flow testing (fire hydrants, fire pumps and other systems) including required frequencies and pass/fail criteria.
Prerequisites: This class is ideally suited for participants conduct ITM requirements on water-based fire protection systems.
Audience: ITM technicians, AHJs, Facility management, building engineers, Insurance professionals
Learning Objectives: Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify the required periodic inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements for water-based fire protection systems and system components
- Perform the required periodic water flow tests, main drain test and valve status tests for water-based fire protection systems and system components
- Interpret the results from periodic inspection, testing, and maintenance activities, explain any deficiencies and corrective measures for owners and managers.
