Getting started is easy. If you haven't taken courses with us, you don't need to sign in or set up an account first. Simply add whatever courses you'd like to take to your cart and check out. During the checkout process, an account will be created for the student (the system will ask for all the required info). Each student will need his or her own account (can't share an account). If you're purchasing courses for multiple students, be sure to log out before making your next purchase so it doesn't add duplicate classes to the same account.

We work with a number of different states and governing bodies to make sure we have you covered. Each course shows what it is approved for (the state and license or permit). If we're not already approved in your state for fire sprinkler and suppression systems, we're happy to make that happen - contact us to let us know!

The most common problem when printing certificates is caused by not including background graphics when printing. Background graphics are used to display the certificate that is printed. The background graphics are not always enabled by default in the print settings for all browsers. Below is a guide that shows how background graphics can be activated on the web browsers ETI supports:
IN CHROME
- Open your Chrome browser and go to File > Print
- In the left-hand menu, click on More settings
- Scroll down until you find the Background graphics checkbox
- Click the checkbox to activate background graphics
IN FIREFOX
- Open your Firefox browser and go to File > Print
- Under the heading Appearance, find the Print Background Colors checkbox
- Click the checkbox to activate background graphics
IN SAFARI

Each state is a bit different, but in every case, you as the license or permit holder are responsible to report your CEU’s to your licensing board. We do submit your completions to the state in certain states when we can (Florida – ONLY IF you provide us with your FCDICE student ID).

A certified California Fire Sprinkler Fitter is required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every three years to maintain their state certification (Sect. 946).
CAL FIRE CEUs are CEUs pre-approved by CAL FIRE. These are specific CEUs as pre-approved by CAL FIRE, and only CAL FIRE-approved CEUs qualify towards fitter certification renewal.
According to CAL FIRE, a class may not be re-submitted in a three-year period. 1.0 CAL FIRE CEU equals 10 hours of continued education. Up to 10 hours of safety courses can be submitted for CEUs within a three-year period.
All of our California courses are approved by the State Fire Marshalls office for your required fitter continuing education. You can see the classes and bundles we have available here:
All licenses for sprinkler fitters are valid from time of issuance to June 30th.
- March 1st - Renewal email notices sent
- May 1st - Renewal Considered Late (Late fee will apply)
- July 1st - Renewal Expired

It is important to log in with the same email address that GovMotus has on file for you. Log in using the email address you received the expiration notice to.

We report course completions at the end of every month for users who have included their FCDICE number in their account. Any courses completed this month will be submitted the first week of the following month.
If you're up against a renewal, we can always go in and submit them early; just let us know.
Any more importantly, you have your certificates and that's really what you need to renew. Just include your certificates with your renewal packet and you'll be good to go. We'll verify your completion when we submit as well.
The FC DICE Student ID is an id number that is assigned through the Fire College website. If you do not know your student ID number, please visit the Florida State Fire College website and log into your account. After logging in, click on "Renewal" and then "Renewal Evaluation." You will see your student ID in the upper right corner.
Additionally, you can look up your student ID with your social security number. You can reach the Florida State Fire College at 352-369-2800 for further assistance.
Each license and permit is different. Here is a list of some of the most common licenses and permits and their requirements:
Fire Sprinkler Contractor 1 & 2:
32 hours every 2 years (includes 1 hour of workers comp, 1 hour of safety, & 1 hour of business practice).
Fire Sprinkler Contractor 3:
32 hours every 2 years (includes 1 hour of workers comp, 1 hour of safety, & 1 hour of business practice).
Fire Sprinkler Contractor 4:
16 hours every 2 years.
Fire Sprinkler Contractor 5:
16 hours every 2 years including one hour in your discipline (underground).
Water-Based Inspectors:
16 hours every 2 years
Fire Equipment Dealer Licenses:
16 hours every 2 years (includes 1 hour of workers comp, 1 hour of safety, & 1 hour of business practice).
Fire Equipment Permits:
16 hours every 2 years (includes 1 hour of safety & 1 hour of business practice).
Fire Safety Inspectors:
54 hours every 4 years.
FASA/BASA
6 hours every two years.
- Fire Sprinklers Contractors and Water-Based Inspectors renew June 30 of even years (every 2 years).

Fire Equipment Dealers and Permits renew December 31 of odd years (every 2 years).

Fire Safety Inspectors renew every 4 years based on the original date of license.
Failure to receive a renewal packet is most likely the result of relocating your business or changing your mailing address and not notifying the State Fire Marshalls Office. Pursuant to Florida Statute the SFM's office must mail them 60 days before the expiration date.
If you have not received your renewal packet, you must contact the SFM's office at (850) 413-3644.

72 hours can be claimed as an active practitioner. If you are claiming all 72 hours as an active practitioner (see here), you will have a balance of 18 hours of required continuing education.
