What’s Shaking in Seismic Protection

$25.00
"Earthquake requirements have been evolving for fire sprinkler systems since 2000. This primarily originates with changes made to the structural standards, such as ASCE/SEI 7 Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures, and the availability of more geotechnical information on earthquake activity and forces. As structural requirements are modified, mechanical systems like fire sprinkler systems need to be aligned, so they work together to resist earthquake loads and continue to operate as intended following the event. Coordination with the new ASCE/SEI 7-22 will lead to discussion and revisions of the existing seismic protection. This session will review what is on the docket. Upon completion of this seminar, attendees will be able to: Describe the hierarchy of codes and standards for fire sprinkler systems subject to earthquakes. Explain the changes to NFPA 13, 2022 Ed., for horizontal forces applicable to fire sprinkler systems. Identify the new considerations based on ASCE/SEI 7-22." Approved For:
