Electrical Requirements for Fire Pumps (FP-21017)

$35.00
NFPA 20 has requirements for power for pumps, drivers, and controllers. While the choice of the power type might be decided by others, those involved in the installation of fire pumps need to know the difference between the types as well as the impact of horsepower rating as these qualities have a significant impact on the complete design of a fire pump. Discovering these differences later in the project can be costly in terms of time and money. Upon completion of this seminar, attendees will be able to: Determine how drivers are sized and the impact of proposed changes to NFPA 20. Describe the various starting arrangements for an electric driven fire pump system. Explain nominal AC voltage and how electric motors are rated. Identify and apply alternate power requirements specific to transfer of power.
