Meter

The meter is a measurement of length. The symbol for the meter is “m”.
NOTE:The prefix “kilo” is often added to “meter” to make a kilometer (1,000 meters). Kilometers are often used where an American would use miles. Another common prefix added to the meter is “centi”. A centimeter is one-hundredth of a meter and is commonly put in the place that a American would put an inch.

The formula to convert meters to feet is:
meters x 3.2808 = number of feet

The formula to convert feet to meters is:
feet x 0.3048 = number of meters
