    • Why keep OSHA records? – Federal mandatory requirements
    • Understanding the OSHA inspection process – the use of documents for defense of inspections and citations
  2. Recording Requirements
    • 10 or more employees
    • Work-related injury or illness – a review of the types of injuries that are recordable incidents
    • Necessary forms – how to properly fill out required forms and maintain them for OSHA purposes
      • i. OSHA 300
      • ii .. OSHA 301
      • iii. OSHA 300-A
    • Defense document retention – discussion of documentation needed to support affirmative defenses to OSHA citations
      • Safety training – OSHA 10 and 30 hour courses, HAZWOPER, and other OSHA certifications
      • Disciplinary records – evidence of a history of safety manual enforcement
      • Toolbox talks and seminars – evidence of in-house training
      • SDS and manufacturers’ recommendations – the importance of retaining installation instructions and product specifications
